Vi-Peel: The 10-Day Post Treatment Plan

Chemical Peel

Chemical Peel

There are different strengths of chemical peels out there that are designed to treat different things. If you really want to go full force and kick your acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation to the curb then a Vi-peel may be able to do the trick. As a more aggressive peel, though, we encourage our patients to follow a strict recovery schedule. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect during the ten days after surgery. Day 1:

  • Wash your face four hours after the peel and apply a layer of post peel protectant

  • Wash your face with a mild cleanser, pat dry, and then use one of the post peel towelettes about one hour before you go to bed.

  • Wear sunscreen during the day

 Day 2:

  • Cleanse skin with a mild cleanser in the morning and gently pat dry

  • Apply a light layer of post peel protectant 3-4 times throughout the day

  • Wear sunscreen during the day

  • Wash your face with a mild cleanser, pat dry, and then use one of the post peel towelettes about one hour before you go to bed.

 Day 3-5:

  • You should start seeing your skin peel around this point. Make sure that you refrain from picking or pulling at any loose skin

  • Wear sunscreen during the day

  Day 6-10:

  • Avoid getting any facial treatments until your skin is calm

  • Continue to baby the skin and avoid scrubbing it

  • Resume using Retin-A and other creams once your skin has started to calm down

One of the best things that you can do for your skin after a VI-peel is to really baby it. If you have any questions about the recovery process at all, don’t hesitate to give us a call at our office and we can assist you. To learn more, contact our San Francisco office and call 415.409.6500.
